The Doughnut Nation rating system is broken down into the following categories that make up the final out of 100 mark.
Size (10 Points) - Size matters, but when it comes to doughnuts, not that much - most judges know that it's all about the taste.
Appearance (10 Points) - Judges should take into account the presentation of the Doughnut. The doughnut-maker's craft is a fine one, and it is appropriate that it be taken into account.
Texture (10 Points) - Judges should consider whether the doughnut is appropriately soft, fluffy or firm? Is it too oily or too dry?
Taste (60 Points) - The most important factor is perhaps the most intangible for judges to measure. Is the doughnut too sweet or not sweet enough? Is the topping too thick or just right? How well does the doughnut go with other food and drink? What is the doughnut's dunkability in coffee?
Overall Satisfaction (10 Points) - Judges will need to take into account how the doughnut make them feel during and after consumption? Was the doughnut a satisfying experience, or an experience that left you disapointed?
