This is a really well made doughnut - as you would expect from Brumby's, who are renowned for making niced baked goods. Clearly good ingredients have been used to make this doughnut, the highlight being the smooth, sweet strawberry jam that has been injected into the doughnut core.

However the dough suffers the same fate as the Brumby's cinnamon ring. Too cakey and quite frankly, it tastes like sandwich bread. The jam does go some way to overpowering the taste of the dough, but as you will read in the treatise, this is not the intention of the doughnut.

Get the dough right and add another 10-15 points.
