A mouth watering doughnut to look at, the Donut King Caramel Yeast Ring is your above average doughnut. It looks really appetising with it's golden brown outer and lovely glossy-caramel topping - it looks very much like a lolly (but perhaps not to the same extent as other Donut King doughnuts).

Caramel is not a frequent topping for Australian-made doughnuts, but it is done quite well here, the burnt toffee taste not overpowering the moist, airy dough. The dough however was not as chewy as I liked it. Something was missing from the experience.

A good doughnut, but not great.
