In what seems to be a new-comer to the Melbourne doughnut market, Doughbouys (why they need to use the spelling "bouy" rather than "boy" is a mystery to me) at DFO Spencer Street has an extremely attractive array of doughnuts on display.

I had to try the original glazed to compare it to the Krispy Kreme original. While the glaze tastes nice and contrasts the bready dough quite well, it's not quite as neatly presented as the KK Original. The dough too is a little bit of a let down and is not as light and buttery as it's major counterpart.

Still it's a reasonable doughnut, though I feel at $2.25 AUD it's a case of mutton dressed up as lamb. A drop in price below the $2 mark would increase satisfaction
