Kerrie Road have come up with another solid tasting effort with this Jam Ball doughnut. However I must take exception to the doughnut's appearance. It looks wrinkled. A doughnut should be round and have an initial surface that is smooth and uncreased. I also feel that the sugar dusting is of too coarse a grade. A smaller grade of sugar dusting is required in this instance.
From a taste perspective the doughnut is quite, quite acceptable, much like the Choc Jam doughnut from the same Bakery. For some reason however the melding of flavours seems to work better with the chocolate icing as to this sugar coating. This cakier dough would seem to work better with icings than plainer coverings.
Still, it's not a bad snack.
