No it's Sydney Airport at 8:30pm after 28 hours in the air/airports. But this is it, my first Krispy Kreme experience. This is what we have all been waiting for in Melbourne (The Narre Warren (????) store in the middle of nowhere (Melbourne's urban sprawl is not open yet). The original glazed Krispy Kreme is perhaps my most awaited doughnut, if only because it is the Krispy Kreme flagship. Having had, and been impressed by the Dunkin Donuts version I was keen to taste. And to be honest, it didn't disapoint. The glaze was much more even and shiny, giving a far better appearance than the Dunkin version. The dough, to be honest is very similar (not as light as some of the Dunkin filled doughnuts), and on taste I could not split them. An impressive original - but certainly not the best doughnut going around. Perhaps a few more points if it were fresh cooked.

These are quite pleasant doughnuts to eat if a touch on the bland side, and are reliant on the glaze to give them extra oomph (That glaze is wonderful for a sugar fix too). Light and fluffy, they are very easy to eat but ultimately inferior to a good jam ball.
