The N Lee Bakery has featured previously on mmmdoughnuts.com with their choc-jam ball doughnut - which received an extremely favourable review. And it was quite justified as it provided a high class doughnut experience.



In the same vien this custard filled doughnut is extremely well presented and made. The dough twist has been executed perfectly. The custard was piped expertly. Full marks for appearance - perhaps a light sugar dusting rather than the crystals would be my preference.



In taste however I felt it was a fraction average. The dough was a bit tough and bready and it caused it to lose marks, along with the sugar dusting. On the upside the custard was good. This is quite a reasonable doughnut, however an improved dough is advisable. Solid citizen of the doughnut world.
