Pastry Art Design Custard Bombolini

Pastry Art Design Custard Bombolini

Worth Trying

LOCATION: 280 Smith St Collingwood Victoria Australia

Pastry Art Design

PRICE: $1.60 AUD

A brilliant looking cushion of sugar-coated fried dough awaited me as I ordered lunch at the Pastry Art Design Bakery. Surrounded by gorgeous looking pies, sandwiches and cakes I was looking forward to trying these italian-jewish inspired fried fritters.

Topped with a dollop of custard-creme the bombolini had a rich, brown and appetising look. Biting into the dough I was disapointed. While crispy on the outside (thanks to the frying) the dough was hard and bready and unfortunently there was too little of the excellent custard.

The doughnut promised alot but did not deliver.
